Sitting down a quiet lane in the West of Iceland, sat a cozy home of utter perfection. With an open floor plan, a wonderful yard for children to ramble about, and impressive views surrounding the back of the house, we immediately unpacked and happily settled in for six days and five nights.

Not only did the house provide the perfect gateway to the scenic West, and Snaefellsnes Peninsula, but the rainbows that arched across the sky made us smile each time they blessed us with their presence.

Still not convinced that the West is worth a visit, check out some of the images below, but also consider how relaxed you will feel after resting your head on plush linens after a rejuvenating soak in the rainfall shower. Both treats were not expected when we rented the house, but made the stay delightfully indulgent!
