Between the towns of Meiringen and Innertkichen in Switzerland lays the 1.4km long Aare River Gorge.  It is a narrow slot, cut through limestone by serpentine glacial waters.  This short walk through, meanders with the river along and through the gorge rock face; even through history where a secret WWII army base was hidden across river.  If you are in this area, it is a cool and easy stroll, and it is recommended to walk it from The Aareschlucht Ost Train or Bus Stops.  At the end there is also a play ground and a restaurant.  For more info visit the Aare Gorge website here.
