Sometimes spontaneous ideas are the best ideas!
Sometimes you need the warmth of the sun on your face and the wind at your back.
Sometimes you need views that spread right before you, blue, green, turquoise – are all just perfectly captivating.
Sometimes you long to feel the cold water trickle down your back and retreat “home” to watch that pink sun set over a dry, barren landscape.
Sometimes you want nothing more than to watch your children laugh endlessly under a warm, Mallorcan sun and collapse into bed at night exhausted from their adventures.
Sometimes you long to drive crazy, new passes, holding your breath as you just slide past bicyclists and buses only to be greeted by a stunning, hidden beach just waiting for you on the other side.
Sometimes your smile is contagious as you share the warm glow of a Thanksgiving meal surrounded by friends new and old.
Sometimes seeing new towns with an ice cream in hand is the perfect way to spend a day.
Sometimes while driving, it is the magic of watching double rainbows paint the sky that fill you with the true essence of what this life is truly about!
And sometimes you are so overcome with joy that you find it hard to put into words.
Tucked down a dirt road just outside rural Campos, sits the pristine and quiet Casa Rural Son Bernadinet hotel. With crisp white sheets, a spacious room that accommodated our entire family of four and food that literally begged us to linger over each bite, this hotel is not to be missed. The grounds are meticulously groomed, the citrus trees perfume the landscape and the pool invites guests to take a swim – this hotel is classic for couples or for families.
Simple and elegant, quiet and relaxing, Son Bernadinet, is just a 20 minute drive from our favorite beach on the island – Es Trenc. With shallow waters perfect for small children, and colors that continue to take our breath away, we are happy to unroll our beach towels, and spend hours on this stunning span of ocean. The children never complain about the day spent under the Spanish sun for they are far too happy collecting hermit crabs, running in and out of the water and lounging lazily on the white sand beaches. If perfect is described as steady and slow, calm and peaceful with natural beauty surrounding, then we have come to tell you that perfection has been discovered.

Illes Balears, Spain
As part of the Weekly Photo Challenge, Earth we celebrate the beauty of Mallorca, Spain. With perfect temperatures, gorgeous white sand beaches and delicious food, who wouldn’t be happy? Here’s to the Earth and to all those Mother’s out there. May your days be blessed with natural beauty!
Nestled in the sleepy town of Campos, sits a tiny oasis for families traveling with small children. Hotel Migjorn boasts ten private apartments, a refreshing swimming pool, and beautiful terrace for enjoying morning breakfasts and lazy dinners. And the bonus is this hotel is a quick 10-minute drive from a truly remarkable beach – Es Trenc.
Es Trenc is a wonderfully child – friendly beach with shallow waters, and a Crayola box of blues that paint its waters into the most idyllic sea scape imaginable . The water and sand are perfect for occupying little people for hours, as they turn out some pretty magical memories. Each time we approach the beach, we sigh in relief, as we know nature’s playground awaits and our children are eager to dive in.
Buckets, shovels and not much else, beach vacations are the perfect escapes for families. With little to no planning required, a minimal packing list; days melt into the late afternoon as they are intended to do, as children and parents swim, play freely and find the ultimate respite from those normal routines that often bog us down.
